Schoolboy Q

Schoolboy Q’s latest venture Crash Talk comes off the back off his 2016 album Blank Face LP. Crash Talk takes all the favorite Schoolboy traits we’ve come to love and re-packages it in one of his most tightly wrapped projects yet. From the first second of the album, you get buckled into a crash course of new sounds and approaches that Schoolboy will be trying on for size in what ends up possibly being his greatest musical accomplishment yet.

Where Oxymoron set the stage for one of hip-hop’s most dynamic west coast rappers to fully blossom, Crash Talk perfectly picks up where we felt Blank Face LP fell short. With loads of club bangers interspersed between more genre-expanding RnB influenced tracks, Q  gets a chance on Crash Talk to show off what all his time in the studio has amounted to.

Crash Talk also includes a few first time features for Q with appearances from Kid Cudi, 21 Savage, YG, and 6lack among a few others. Like we said earlier, Crash Talk completely overshadows Blank Face LP, but the more we listen, the more we think that this may be Q’s greatest album to date.
